Today was the first day of classes. Even though we don’t have to officially chose our classes until the end of the week, I already know what I want so I’m not really going to try out any others.

I’m taking Politica y Sociedad, Cuento (stories, from both Spain and other countries), Coloquial Spanish and a required grammer class. I’m excited I only have to take four classes; I wouldn’t mind taking a fifth but I would prefer to have more time to travel and explore since that’s really what I came here for.

I had politica and my grammer class today and enjoyed both of them. Politica y Sociedad is a good overview of Spanish politics, history and culture. I didn’t really realize until I got here that I know absolutely nothing about Spanish culture (other than what I learned in the last few months) and especially history. I know much more about England, Germany and France but nothing about Spain. But I suppose living here in the best way to learn!
