Since David was leaving friday morning, we went downtown for dinner and hung out for a while. Friday came and we got up and went out to breakfast with a few others before David left for the airport. Then around 10:00 they drove off, leaving me to entertain myself until my saturday flight. I went into the lab for a short time to finish my final report and say goodbye and spent the evening hanging out with the remaining SURF-IT students. We laughed a lot and watched some monty python skits.
And now I’m back home again. We went to church this morning, which I find to be a very similar experience every time I go to church after being gone for some time. Everyone I know and kind of know (and people I sometimes can’t remember the names of) ask me the same question. Usually it’s “how was college,” this time it was “how was california” and/or something related to my upcoming trip to Madrid. It’s always nice too see everyone, and I somehow still have friends that go to church there (who are old enough to be leaving for college but haven’t).
Now I have to unpack just so that I can pack again in a few days. I’m getting excited about Madrid again, lots of things to do before I leave on Saturday.
