California to Madrid

half way

Wednesday marked the halfway point of the internship program. It’s all gone by so fast and I fear the second half will be equally quick. :(

This week was sort of up and down as far as productivity. Monday I was hoping to work with the robot and show Levi what I had been working on. But all day there were people in and out of the lab (I listened to a rather extensive conversation about creating a business to market and sell the exoskeleton arms to physical therapists). Near the end of the day Levi’s family came in and he left with them.

Tuesday Levi didn’t come it at all and I had little success at finding things to work on and ended up leaving an hour earlier than I normally do (9-5).  Wednesday it didn’t seem promising that he would be there, but he showed up shortly before our lab meeting and I had a chance to show him some things. After the meeting my advisor also sat down with me so I could get some feedback. He explained more clearly what he wanted and gave me better direction than Levi, who wasn’t really part of developing the games.

I think Thursday was my only truly productive day this week. I got working on some of the changes he wanted and stayed pretty focused all day. Today (Friday) I only worked about two hours because David and I are taking a road trip down to LA to visit/meet Brian and Emily! We’re leaving in about half an hour to pick up the car and then driving along the coast most of the way there.
